Anjuna Flea Market Of Goa – A Photo Essay
Anjuna Flea Market, held on Wednesdays, is one of the most vivid sights in Goa. It’s perhaps the most favourite place of photography enthusiasts. You can skip Anjuna beach if you’d like to, but don’t miss the colourful flea market.
Although I knew about Anjuna Flea Market of Goa, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to check it out. Thanks to a local who insisted that I should not miss it if I wanted to take some nice pictures. He was right! The much talked about Flea Market of Goa did turn out to be a great place for photography. As soon as I made my foray into the market, I got overwhelmed by its vivid colours and the buzz exuded by the local and expat vendors.
Although I could not take the tour of the entire market, I was quite happy with whatever little I could see and photograph. Besides, there were a few vendors who weren’t happy about their stalls being stalked by my camera. So I had to rush back after clicking just a few photos.
Take a look and let me know if you liked them –

I guess it’s a good idea to visit such weekly markets of a place. You don’t just get some good pictures, but you also get a chance to rub shoulders with the locals. The good idea would be to talk to them first, build a rapport and then ask their permission for the pictures.
I visited Anjuna Flea Market in an extreme situation. I had to rush. Thereby, it was not a great experience. I’d suggest that you should have plenty of time and the right travel companions by your side for such experiences. Yes of course, there’s nothing better than being solo on such trips.
